CIPE and PCI

Since the end of the FY 2008, CIPE has been partnering with Precise Consult International (PCI) to implement a 5 years comprehensive capacity building program for Business Membership Organizations (BMOs), mostly chambers of commerce and sectoral associations, women entrepreneurial associations, saving and credit associations, and sector based associations. There are more than 46 partner BMOs in five regional states (Harar, Amhara, Oromia, Tigray, & SNNPR) and the two federal cities-Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa.

CIPE Programs

CIPE has three major program activities to support partner Business Membership Organizations:

  •  Training

CIPE/PCI have practical training package focusing on the capacity of associations’ leadership, management, and financial sustainability.  All training manuals are prepared in Amharic language.

  •  Technical Assistance

CIPE/PCI provides multifaceted technical assistance based on the needs of each partner BMOs and diagnostic assessment. The technical assistance includes providing consultants, materials, and office facilities aimed to enhance institutional capacity to enable partners to give the right kind of services to their members.

  •  Competitive small grant award

Every year CIPE provides small grant to its partners that have practical and implementable project ideas within short period of time. All the project ideas should be measurable at the end of the completion of the program in terms of impact. So far, more than 10 Ethiopian BMOs are benefited from this activity.
